Magpies Three is a Leeds based theatre company active since 2012. Founding members Daisy and Alice, met at The University of Leeds, whilst studying Theatre and Performance. They developed a unique way of working and after three years of studies together they decided to keep writing and performing, resulting in the creation of Magpies Three (see the Note below for the origin of our name).

‘We hope to create work which reflects on things and people we see. We are particularly interested in making theatre that we can perform in unusual spaces, not necessarily a traditional theatre. Our work is heavily influenced by everyday experiences in our world, from a female perspective. We pose/ask/suggest/ question… What is it to be a woman in the 21st century?

Mission statement

We aim to make entertaining, thought provoking, affordable and accessible theatre. We recognise the need to make theatre outside of theatrical spaces to try and interest people that may not feel comfortable in the conventional theatre setting. Our work is created form the female perspective and will often be about cultural, social and political pressure women are faced with on a day-to-day basis. We want to make you think but above all we want to make you laugh
